Internship offer (3-6 months) : Optimization of NV Center Quantum Magnetic Sensors
Context
Join a dynamic Research & Development team dedicated to improving high precision magnetometers. You will contribute to a strategic project combining optics, electronics, and data analysis within a stimulating scientific environment.
The company develops magnetic measurement instruments based on the Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) center in diamond. These solutions are designed for applications such as non destructive testing and navigation. Some magnetometer implementations require the application of a magnetic bias (a known static field) whose quality — in terms of stability and homogeneity — is critical.
The objective of this internship is therefore to test several architectures for implementing magnetic bias fields.
Missions and responsabilities
The main goal of the internship is to experimentally evaluate the different strategies considered, assessing both their validity and their limitations.
During the initial phase, the intern will become familiar with the company’s activities. The majority of the internship will then be divided between simulations and experimental work involving implementation, testing, and analysis of the obtained results.
As part of the R&D team working on magnetometer optimization, you will contribute directly to the experimental and analytical aspects of the project:
• Implement and test magnetic bias architectures proposed by the team.
• Analyze experimental results (implementation success, observed limitations, etc.). Data analysis will be performed using Python.
Required Profile
You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree (Bac+4/5) in physics, instrumentation, or a related field, and you have technical knowledge in the following areas:
• Optics
• Basic knowledge of electronics
• Good proficiency in Python
Compensation & Benefits
• Internship allowance: legal minimum internship compensation
• Performance-based bonus depending on project progress
• Meal vouchers (value: €10)
